PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antti Silava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devon King told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Devon King!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with a lunging right hand
and King takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
King lands with a nice body punch.
King avoids the body shot from Silava.
King shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silava as he jumps to the side.

Silava with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling King to score with a decent uppercut.
A telegraphed right hand from King misses the target.
King clobbers Silava with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Devon King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Silava displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab.

King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silava swivels and escapes.
King fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silava manages to avoid it.

Silava feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kings jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

A relieved looking Devon King thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
