Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Saki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Lang has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Eric Saki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Saki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Lang!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saki throws a hook but Lang avoids it easily.
Lang lands a head kick!


Saki is rocked!
Lang moves out of range of the strikes.
Oh Saki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lang sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Saki seems to have got his legs back now.
Lang takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Lang tries to clinch up but Saki circles away and keeps his distance.
Saki misses the jab.
Lang shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saki as he jumps to the side.
Saki connects with a body shot.
Saki misses with a double jab.
Saki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Saki misses with the combination.
Lang is looking to clinch but Saki is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Saki misses with a head kick.
Saki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lang tries to clinch but Saki moves out of range.
No joy there for Saki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Saki throws out a loose jab but Lang uses good head movement to avoid it.
Saki lands an overhand right.
Saki looks to land a combination but Lang avoids it well.
Saki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lang.
Saki scores with a one two! Lang had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Saki misses with a wild combination.
Saki throws a shot from downtown. Lang moves away and avoids it.
Lang defending well as Saki loads up on a big left hand.

Saki throws a right hand that Lang ducks under and follows up with a left that Lang also avoids with ease.
Saki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Saki throws a head kick that misses

and Lang counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Saki's guard now.
Saki is breathing heavily.
Lang tries to free his leg and advance position but Saki is retaining full guard.
Lang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Saki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lang decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Saki throws a combination that misses
and Lang counters with a nice kick to the body.

Lang is looking to clinch but Saki is avoiding it.

Lang rushes Saki and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Lang pushes Saki back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Lang stalls.
Lang lands a nice elbow.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lang landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Saki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lang.
Saki is looking to break free of the clinch but Lang has double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

and Lang holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Lang slows down the pace here.
Lang stalling in the clinch but Saki improves position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lang wants a takedown but no success here.
Lang is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Lang has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Saki avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Saki misses with a double jab

and Lang holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lang keeps control of Saki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Saki breaks from the clinch.
Saki throws a combination that misses

and Lang moves into the clinch.
Saki blocks the elbow strike.
Saki is trying to break the clinch but Lang has him pressed against the ropes.
Saki is pressed up against the ropes. Lang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Saki down to the mat. Saki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Saki thows a leg kick but Lang checks it

and Lang counters with a single leg into guard. Saki didn't expect that.
Lang is breathing heavily.
Saki wants to control the position but Lang says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Lang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lang is thwarting Saki's attempts to control the position.

Saki preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Saki kicks Lang off and gets back to his feet.
Saki misses with a looping right.
Saki throws a combination that misses
and Lang counters with a good low kick that Saki was not able to check.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saki.
Saki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lang tries to clinch there but Saki circles away.
Lang steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Saki.
Saki misses with a two punch combination.
Lang tries to clinch up.
Lang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saki tries to avoid it but Lang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saki to the ground. Saki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lang fails in his attempt to clinch.
Saki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lang doesn't manage to clinch there - Saki circles away.
Saki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Lang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Lang counters with a nice body kick.
Saki throws a left and a right that both miss

and Lang counters by moving into the clinch.
Lang works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Saki is trying to break the clinch but Lang has him pressed against the ropes.

Lang is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Saki is keeping busy.
Lang misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Saki.

Lang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Lang counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Lang looks at the referee who does nothing so Lang lands a crushing right that sends Saki to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
