Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jar Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Laws (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Laws struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jar Swanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Laws! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Laws looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Laws has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Swanson is landing a low percentage of strikes. Laws has his takedown stuffed and Swanson counters with a left and a right that stings Laws. Laws tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swanson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laws somewhat. Laws misses with a takedown attempt - Swanson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've been told by Swanson's head coaches at Diamond In The Rough Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Jar Swanson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Laws. Swanson scores with a three punch combo!

Laws is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Laws is looking for a sweep. Laws wants to control but Swanson postures up. Swanson is trying to get an arm triangle but Laws is defending well. Swanson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Laws has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Swanson but great work by Laws. Laws throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laws is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Swanson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Swanson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Laws working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laws decides to stand up, so the ref orders Swanson to his feet. A clash of legs there as Swanson blocks the low kick. Laws misses with a hook
and Swanson counters with a left and a right that stings Laws. Laws closes the distance and clinches. Laws stops a takedown attempt from Swanson.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Swanson tries to break the clinch but Laws is controlling the position. Swanson tries to circle away but Laws has him pinned against the cage. Swanson tries to pull guard but Laws won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laws bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Swanson's guard. Swanson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Laws can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Swanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Laws on the ground. Laws takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Swanson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laws is keeping the position for now. Jar Swanson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swanson slips nicely into half guard. Laws trying to hold on to Swanson's head to control him but Swanson postures up.
Swanson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Laws does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Laws makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Swanson swinging wildly here.
Laws closes the distance and clinches up with Swanson, looking for a takedown. Laws pushes Swanson against the cage but Swanson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A head kick from Laws lands but Swanson takes it in his stride. Laws is trying desperately to land a takedown but Swanson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Laws.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swanson feints a jab promting Laws to slip. Swanson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Laws slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Laws is looking to clinch. Laws clinches up with Swanson and pushes him back against the cage. Swanson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Swanson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Laws can do to turn this around? Laws tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Swanson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Laws has him pressed against the cage. Laws fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Laws's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Laws is defended easily by Swanson. Laws with a lazy takedown attempt and Swanson counters with a left and a right that stings Laws.
The cut above Jacob Laws's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Swanson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laws tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jacob Laws has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Laws avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Jar Swanson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Swanson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
