Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Davis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to House of Pain - Jump Around. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis shoots in for a double leg but Fisher sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fisher lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Fisher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Davis moves into the clinch successfully.
A bit of stalling here from Fisher.

Davis clinches but Fisher breaks the clinch and Fisher counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Davis darts in trying to clinch and Fisher counters with a left and a right that stings Davis.
It looks like Marcus Davis has been cut. Fisher comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Davis throws a combination that misses and Fisher counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Davis is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Davis ducks under a wild hook from Fisher. Fisher drives through and clinches with Davis against the cage.
Fisher is fighting off a takedown attempt but Davis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fisher to the mat. Fisher regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Fisher wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fisher has a closed guard, preventing Davis from standing up. Fisher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fisher is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer. Davis is in trouble now - Fisher has advanced to mount! Fisher content just to control the position here. Fisher is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Davis darts in trying to clinch and Fisher counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Fisher breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fisher misses with an uppercut. Davis saw that one coming. The fight moves into the clinch position. The referee calls for Fisher to work.
Fisher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Fisher throws out a loose jab but Davis uses good head movement to avoid it. Fisher throws an overhand right that lands on Davis's shoulder, as Davis tries to avoid the shot. Davis tries to clinch up but Fisher circles away and keeps his distance. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fisher, right into the meat.
Fisher uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fisher loads up on a big right hand but Davis slips the punch. Fisher throws a predictable looking body shot
and Davis counters with a big head kick but Fisher shrugs it off. Davis lands with a nice body punch. Davis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fisher counters with a right hand to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neil Fisher dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marcus Davis's cut. That's time! Davis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. and Davis moves into the clinch. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Fisher in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Fisher lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Davis backwards. Davis has had enough of the clinch but Fisher keeps him there for the moment. Fisher breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A punch lands to the side of Davis 's head but he takes it in his stride. Davis lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Davis has closed the distance and engaged Fisher in a clinch.
Davis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Davis. Fisher manages to break the clinch.
Davis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fisher. Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. An inside leg kick lands from Fisher. Fisher digs a good body shot into Davis's ribs. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fisher clinches with his opponent.

Davis closes the distance but Fisher moves to the side and Fisher counters with a lovely straight right hand! Davis misses with a takedown attempt and Fisher counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fisher. Fisher working some nice short punches in the clinch. Fisher breaks from the clinch.
