Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Buddy Marsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Reese! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marsh fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Marsh slips a jab from Reese. Marsh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Marsh doesn't manage to clinch there - Reese circles away.

Reese tries for a takedown but Marsh sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Reese tries to clinch up but Marsh circles away and keeps his distance. Horrible takedown by Reese or perhaps it was just good defense by Marsh which made him look bad. Reese swings and misses with a shot to the body and Marsh counters by clinching up. Reese is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Buddy Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Reese. Marsh wants a takedown.

Reese looks to land a right hand but Marsh moved out of range. Reese tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Marsh tries to clinch but Reese moves out of range. Horrible takedown by Marsh or perhaps it was just good defense by Reese which made him look bad. Reese looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marsh is fending him off so far but Reese persists. Nope, Marsh circles away and we're back to standing. Reese throws a right hand that Marsh ducks under and follows up with a left that Marsh also avoids with ease. Reese changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marsh tries to avoid it but Reese manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marsh to the ground. Marsh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Reese tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marsh manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Marsh tries to bum rush Reese with a series of wild strikes but Reese uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marsh moves into the clinch. Reese ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Reese no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Marsh looking to pass the guard. Marsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Marsh controls from within his opponent's guard. Marsh preventing the sweep. Marsh showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Marsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Marsh postures up in Reese's guard and throws a big left but Reese blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Buddy Marsh. Reese dives in for a single leg takedown but Marsh sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Reese fails to pull guard.
Reese's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reese tries to clinch but Marsh moves out of range. Reese tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marsh swivels and escapes. Reese looks winded! Reese takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Reese throws a body punch but Marsh moves out of range. Marsh fails with the takedown. No joy there for Marsh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reese is fending him off so far but Marsh persists. Nope, Reese circles away and we're back to standing. Marsh misses with a leg kick and Reese counters with an inside leg kick. A shot to the body from Reese misses and Marsh counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Marsh looks for a takedown but Reese sprawls well. Marsh lands a jab to Reese's midsection. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marsh tries to close the distance and clinch but Reese swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Reese looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marsh is fending him off so far but Reese persists. Nope, Marsh circles away and we're back to standing. Reese darts in looking for a takedown but Marsh gets double underhooks and turns Reese into the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marsh effectively controlling the action here. Marsh is trying to push Reese away but Reese has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marsh moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Marsh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reese, pushing him back against the cage. Reese prevents the takedown attempt.
Reese is working for takedown but Marsh is calmly controlling the position for now. Marsh tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Marsh is pressed up against the cage. Reese has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Marsh down to the mat. Marsh avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Reese is breathing heavily. Marsh tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Reese is able to avoid easily. Reese shoots in and drives through. Marsh sprawls well. Horrible takedown by Marsh or perhaps it was just good defense by Reese which made him look bad.

Marsh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reese's waist but Reese gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marsh off to one side.

Reese misses with a takedown attempt - Marsh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Marsh tries to clinch up. Reese tries to clinch but Marsh moves out of range. Reese fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsh goes for a double leg but Reese avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Reese continues to drive forward. Reese drops down looking for an ankle pick but Marsh pulls his leg out and moves away.
Marsh looks for a takedown but Reese sprawls well. Reese slaps away a takedown attempt from Marsh, before circling back to the center of the mat. Marsh doesn't manage to clinch there - Reese circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reese tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marsh defends well and Reese ends up having to push Marsh into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Reese breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We're now in half guard. Reese takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Reese thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to John Reese. Well Marsh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
