Cruz has chosen head crusher as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Intelligence scores with a three punch combo!
Cruz misses with an uppercut. Cruz walks into a straight right hand from Intelligence. Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown but Intelligence manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cruz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Intelligence lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cruz backs up against the cage.
Hal Intelligence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Intelligence misses the shot to the body. Cruz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Intelligence manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cruz engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Intelligence trying to control the position.
Intelligence being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cruz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz stands up over Intelligence, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cruz controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Intelligence looking for a sweep. Not yet Intelligence, not yet. Intelligence working a defensive guard here.
Cruz with a nice head shot there. Cruz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Cruz content to stall in guard here. Cruz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cruz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Intelligence is breathing heavily.

Cain Cruz has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Cruz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Intelligence's guard. Intelligence being controlled here, momentarily. Let's hope that Cruz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz connects with a couple of short punches. Cruz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Cain Cruz. Cruz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Intelligence did well to prevent Cruz getting side control. Cruz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Cruz is trying for a kimura here. Intelligence looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Cruz wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cain Cruz! A relieved looking Cain Cruz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
