Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armando Wriedt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo comes into the arena with dmx blaring out of the sound system. Wriedt has chosen Raise hell as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wriedt looks to land a combination. Aldo sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wriedt turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Aldo takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wriedt jabs Aldo right on the nose. Aldo blinks but takes it well.
Wriedt throws a head kick but Aldo moves out of range.

Wriedt fakes the leg kick and cracks Aldo in the body.

Wriedt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aldo.
Aldo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Aldo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Wriedt throws a sloppy head kick and Aldo moves out of range easily.
Aldo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Wriedt throws a looping overhand right but Aldo ducks down to avoid it.
Wriedt throws a push kick but Aldo slaps the foot to one side.
Aldo blocks a head kick by Wriedt.
Wriedt tries to work over Aldo's front leg with a kick but Aldo checks it.

Wriedt throws a sloppy head kick and Aldo moves out of range easily.

Wriedt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wriedt has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Aldo ducks under a wild hook from Wriedt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Aldo counters with a right hand that sends Wriedt tumbling to the canvas! Can Aldo finish him? He dives into Wriedt's guard looking to do just that!

It looks like Armando Wriedt has been cut.

Aldo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wriedt is still in real trouble! Can Aldo finish him?
Aldo landing some decent shots from guard.
Aldo loads up on a big left hand. Wriedt felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Aldo looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Wriedt can't hide his disappointment, as Aldo celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jose Aldo!
After winning the bout, Jose Aldo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
