Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rufus Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepherd has chosen Alter Bridge - Addicted to pain as his entrance music. Rufus Shepherd will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rufus Shepherd! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shepherd gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Shepherd is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ward is not content to let Shepherd control the position. Shepherd works his way into full mount! Shepherd looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shepherd misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Ward knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shepherd on the ground. Shepherd has control of Ward's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ward regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Shepherd looking to ground and pound but Ward is blocking nicely. Shepherd wants to finish this one by submission but Ward is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Shepherd.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shepherd looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Shepherd with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Poor strikes thrown by Shepherd there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Shepherd has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shepherd can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ward is looking to escape. Ward is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Ward wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Shepherd.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shepherd punching from mount but Ward doing a good job of avoiding damage. Ward tries to hold on but Shepherd postures up. Ward working to try and regain half guard.
Shepherd working for a guillotine from mount but Ward is in no mood to give up. Shepherd has isolated one of Ward's arms. Ward looking to fight him off but Shepherd twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
