Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Maywho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Boggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boggs has chosen "Miami Vice Theme" by Jan Hammer as his entrance music. Tyson Boggs struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyson Boggs! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maywho fails to land the takedown. Boggs looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Maywho throws a combination. Boggs tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Maywho throws a head kick but Boggs moves out of range.
Maywho fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boggs manages to avoid it. Maywho tries to clinch up but Boggs circles away and keeps his distance. Maywho fails with a takedown attempt. Boggs keeps the fight on the outside. The fight moves into the clinch position. Maywho is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Maywho has been working on his balance at Academy of Combat, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Boggs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maywho's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Boggs clinches with his opponent.
Maywho looking to slow down the pace here. Maywho is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Boggs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Maywho gets a takedown into half guard. Maywho is keen to just control but Boggs is a slippery customer.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ground and pound from Maywho. Maywho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boggs keeps working. Maywho wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carl Maywho. Maywho moves into the clinch successfully.

Maywho pulls Boggs in to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Boggs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A right-left combo lands from Maywho. Carl Maywho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maywho throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Boggs tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Maywho is in Boggs's guard. Maywho trying to control the position from guard on top but Boggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maywho looking to pass the guard. Maywho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boggs on the ground. Boggs is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maywho working some strikes from top position. Boggs has a closed guard, preventing Maywho from standing up. Maywho decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maywho fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Boggs to the ground. Maywho is now in Boggs's guard. Maywho has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Boggs can't keep his opponent in guard - Maywho advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Boggs is staying active underneath Maywho, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Maywho tries to pass to full mount but Boggs defends it. Maywho drops an elbow to the side of Boggs's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maywho works his foot free and advances to mount. Maywho tries to control but Boggs wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maywho unloading with bombs! Maywho has hold of Boggs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Boggs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Maywho looking to control but Boggs is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maywho is in the full mount, landing strikes. Maywho lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boggs is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Maywho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Boggs is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maywho fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Maywho throws a sloppy head kick and Boggs moves out of range easily. Maywho fails to land the takedown. Maywho will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maywho is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Maywho misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boggs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boggs closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Maywho is looking to escape. Maywho wants to improve his position but Boggs is controlling well.
Maywho has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Boggs is on him like a limpet, forcing Maywho back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maywho escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Maywho is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Maywho wants to sweep here but Boggs controlling him for the moment. Maywho is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boggs can do to turn this around?

Tyson Boggs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We're going to have a standup here because Carl Maywho wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Maywho shoots in looking for a takedown. Boggs tries to sprawl out of it but Maywho keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boggs manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Maywho tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Boggs defends well and Maywho ends up having to push Boggs into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Carl Maywho showed his dominance in that final round. Well Maywho has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
