PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Ing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader has chosen Burn It To The Ground as his entrance music. Brett Ing is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brett Ing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vic Vader!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ing stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ing wants it to stay on the feet.
Ing moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ing jabs Vader to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Ing lands a left and a right that send Vader crashing to the mat, dazed. Ing thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Vader is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vader fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ing sprawls well initially but Vader persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Vader is still in real trouble! Can Ing finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Vader is trying to control. Ing wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Vader is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ing is just riding it out for now. Vader eventually gives up the hold.

Vader is working for a kimura but Ing is defending it quite comfortably.
Ing manages to get to full guard.
Vader seems to have recovered his senses.
Vader looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vader postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vader throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ing works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Vader should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Vader stays in close to Ing's body and controls the position.
Vader wants to pass the guard but Ing is keeping the position.

Vader thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vader postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vader throwing strikes but missing.
Vader throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ing controlling Vader's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vader advances to half guard.

Vader is trying to work for a kimura but Ing is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ing blocking the ground and pound attempt from Vader.

Vader wants to work for an arm triangle but Ing is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ing on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ing tries to get out of the position.

Vader is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ing has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ing tries to kick Vader off but Vader keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Vader trying to mount his opponent but Ing defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Vader is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vader works his foot free and advances to mount.

Vader working for a guillotine from mount but Ing is in no mood to give up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vader punching from mount but Ing doing a good job of avoiding damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vic Vader will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ing slaps away a takedown attempt from Vader, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ing closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ing looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vader takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ing throws a series of punches but Vader moves out of range.
Brett Ing is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vader.
Vader fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Brett Ing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vic Vader.
Ing cracks Vader with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Brett Ing is winning the standup battle so far.
Vader tries to clinch but Ing moves out of range.
Ing scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've been informed that Vader has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Vader tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ing swivels and escapes.
Vader has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ing connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Vader! He's out on his feet! Ing rushes in and drops Vader with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Brett Ing!
Brett Ing seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
