Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Dan K (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Matthysse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). K kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Albatross, Albatross, Albatross. Dan K could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lucas Matthysse's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthysse misses with a wild body shot.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by K .
K with a body punch. A glancing blow.

K walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

With the fighters up against the ropes, K throws an elbow but misses.
Matthysse wants to break free but K has control.
K lands with a short shot to the head.

Matthysse has had enough of the clinch but K keeps him there for the moment.

Matthysse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

K bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Matthysse's head.

K connects with a leg kick. Matthysse looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Matthysse connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

K ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

K with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Matthysse to score with a decent uppercut.
K loads up on a big right hand but Matthysse slips the punch.

K fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Matthysse.
Matthysse bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

K attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

K throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
K ducks under a wild hook from Matthysse.
K is looking to clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Matthysse crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from K - the referee stops the clock and Matthysse gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says K . Matthysse manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Matthysse throws a looping overhand right but K ducks down to avoid it.
Matthysse throws a lazy right hand but K sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Matthysse throws a poor cross that misses
and K counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Matthysse is breathing heavily.
K looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
K lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Matthysse on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Matthysse slips a jab from K .
The fighters circle momentarily. K darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

K throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
K misses with a low kick.
K moves out of range as Matthysse strikes.
Matthysse fakes high and swings low for a body shot but K manages to avoid it.
K connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

K lands with a right hand.
K connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Matthysse's hands.

Matthysse swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

K staggers Matthysse with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Matthysse looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan K will take that round after scoring the only knockdown of the round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

K misses with a series of wild punches.
Matthysse is still on wobbly legs! Can K finish him?
K misses the shot to the body.
Matthysse seems to have recovered his senses.
A big left from K misses.
Matthysse's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

K is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Matthysse can do to turn this around?
Matthysse chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before K can pounce on him.
K lands with a kick to the temple. Matthysse shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Matthysse drops his guard momentarily, allowing K to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Matthysse! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! K takes it!
