Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Gary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Ardona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Gary has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Gary! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Ardona! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ardona throws a lazy right hand but Gary sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ardona defending well as Gary loads up on a big left hand. Gary defending well as Ardona loads up on a big left hand. Ardona has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. The crowd cheers as Gary lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ardona doesn't seem phased though. Ardona misses with a series of wild punches.
Ardona lands a glancing blow to the side of Gary's head. Gary takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Nice uppercut there from Ardona. Gary shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ardona as he jumps to the side. A looping hook to the body misses from Gary. Ardona does a little dance to reset his feet. Ardona ducks under a wild hook from Gary. Ardona bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gary's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gary shoots in looking for a takedown. Ardona tries to sprawl out of it but Gary keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ardona manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gary definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. James Ardona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ardona tries to bum rush Gary with a series of wild strikes but Gary uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ardona throws a series of punches but Gary avoids them all with ease. Ardona's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ardona duly obliges.
Gary is rocked! Ardona misses the jab. Oh Gary is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ardona loads up on a big right hand but Gary slips the punch. Ardona swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ardona throws a shot from downtown. Gary moves away and avoids it. Ardona thows a left - swing and a miss! Ardona ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Ardona tries to bum rush Gary with a series of wild strikes but Gary uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ardona misses with a series of wild punches.

A slow jab from Ardona misses its intended target. Ardona throws a right and a left that Gary avoids nicely. Ardona might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. No joy there for Ardona, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ardona slips under a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ardona lands a nice looking body shot.
Gary slips a jab and a cross from Ardona.
Ardona looks winded! Ardona throws a hook but Gary blocks it. Ardona looks to land a combination but Gary avoids it well. Gary seems to have got his legs back now. Ardona misses with a wild combination.
Ardona looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gary is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ardona. Ardona waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gary. Gary really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ardona fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gary manages to avoid it. Gary connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Gary moves away from the strike by Ardona. Ardona scores with a jab to the jaw. James Ardona is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ardona misses with a series of wild punches.
Gary shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ardona pinned against the cage. Ardona gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Gary. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ardona lands a body shot.
Gary takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Gary gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Gary misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gary gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ardona gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Gary is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
