Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willis Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miranda Jones! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones swinging wildly here.
Jones closes the distance and pushes Baker back into the cage. Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Baker walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Willis Baker has been cut. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Baker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Baker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Baker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well. Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Baker has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jones seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Baker is controlling him. Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Baker defends it easily. Jones has an active guard here but Baker has managed to pass into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Baker scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Baker seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt. Baker stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones is trying to control but Baker manages to pass to mount!
Baker stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Jones looks to land a left hand but Baker moved out of range nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Miranda Jones will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Willis Baker's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Baker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. Baker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Willis Baker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jones looking to pass the guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Baker doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Baker stuffs the takedown. Baker takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Baker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Baker's head. Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Jones dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Baker. That did some damage! Jones moves into range and clinches up with Baker. This has been an exciting period of action! Baker lands a hook that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Jones pulls guard effortlessly. Baker sitting in guard here, content to control.

Jones is breathing heavily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones is being controlled here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miranda Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Willis Baker's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Miranda Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baker doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones clinches up against the cage. Jones stalls. Baker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Baker uses from the top position. Baker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Baker stops Jones from standing up. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Baker works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Baker is proving a slippery customer.

Baker landing strikes from the mount and Jones is in trouble! Willis Baker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Miranda Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Willis Baker. I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
