Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Sun God Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malone has chosen Martyr Perpetual Healing Infinite Pain as his entrance music. Josh Malone is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Sun God Ra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Malone!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ra throws a body punch but Malone moves out of range.
Malone takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ra misses with an uppercut
and Malone counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ra's knee momentarily.
We've been hearing reports that Ra has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Ra throws a jab but it's blocked by Malone.
Malone scores with a nice body kick.
Malone looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ra looks to throw the jab but Malone is out of range.
Malone throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ra scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Malone lands an overhand right.
No joy there for Malone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Malone looks to land a combination but Ra avoids it well.
Malone looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ra fails to land with a series of punches.
Malone goes for a double leg but Ra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ra continues to drive forward.
Ra doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Malone is trying to drag Ra to the mat but Ra just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Malone blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ra stalling in the clinch but Malone improves position.
Maybe Ra would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

Ra lands a nice uppercut.
Malone avoids a wild elbow strike from Ra.
Malone lands an elbow inside.
Malone avoids a wild elbow strike from Ra.
Malone lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ra backwards.
Malone manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Malone turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ra is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ra is pushing Malone's head away, looking to escape. Malone manages to hold on to the position though.

Malone scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ra to see if he's OK.

Malone lands some shots froms side control.
Malone trying to control the position but Ra is working away.

Malone wants to take a breather but Ra manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Malone.

Ra utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ra is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malone is fighting to break Ra's control of his arms but Ra is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of The Sun God Ra.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Malone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ra circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Malone dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Malone ducks under a wild hook from Ra.
Ra throws a lazy uppercut
and Malone counters with a leg kick.
Malone is looking to slow Ra down with leg kicks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ra. Malone does a little dance to reset his feet.

Malone shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Malone showed some decent athleticism there.
Malone throwing shots but Ra is blocking nicely.
Malone is nestled in close to Ra, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Ra manages to get to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Malone pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ra is keeping the position for now.
Malone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ra is on top in guard.

Ra drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Malone manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ra has Malone in his guard.

Malone throws a big right hand that misses.
Ra lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Malone!
Malone regains half guard.
Ra throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Malone is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Ra is trying to control the action in half guard but Malone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Malone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ra's guard.

Ra is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Malone is aware though and is defending well.
Ra is trying to keep Malone in close.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ra is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Josh Malone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Malone throws a leg kick which misses Ra's front leg but catches the back leg as Ra tries to avoid it.
Malone darts in looking for a takedown but Ra gets double underhooks and turns Malone into the cage.
Ra lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ra seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Malone is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Malone tries to work over Ra's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Malone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Malone misses with a body kick.

Ra has managed to clinch.

Malone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Malone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice shot lands for Ra.
Malone feints and then cracks Ra's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ra down.
Malone dips to his left and cracks Ra with an uppercut!


It looks like The Sun God Ra has been cut.
Malone throws out a leg kick but Ra moves out of range and Malone only half commits.
The Sun God Ra is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malone scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice defenses there by Ra.
Ra throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The Sun God Ra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Malone keeps the fight on the outside.
Ra scores with a three punch combo!
A slapping leg kick lands for Malone.
Ra blocks a head kick by Malone.
Malone tries to score with a low kick but Ra moves his leg out of the way.
Malone keeps Ra at a distance using the push kick.
Ra misses with the combination.
Josh Malone is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ra walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Ra swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Malone lands a head shot.
Ra rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Malone finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Malone!
Malone lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Malone defending well as Ra loads up on a big left hand.
Josh Malone seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ra throws a series of punches but Malone avoids them all with ease.

Malone closes the distance and clinches.

Malone has hold of one of Ra's legs. Ra is fighting the takedown attempt but Malone gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
