Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerald Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rock has chosen bulls on parade as his entrance music. Jerald Davidson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerald Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christian Rock! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rock scores with a crisp jab that stopped Davidson in his tracks. Davidson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Davidson wants to stand but Rock is controlling his arm. Rock is trying to improve his position. Davidson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davidson tries to get to his feet but Rock is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Davidson in his guard. Rock avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Davidson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rock on the ground. Davidson wants to stand but Rock has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Rock thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Rock pulls Davidson in close to his closed guard and prevents Davidson from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Rock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Rock is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Davidson is aware though and is defending well. Rock wants to stand but Davidson is controlling the position. Davidson preventing the sweep. Davidson trying to control but Rock is working from the bottom. Davidson wants to stand but Rock has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fight moves into the clinch position. Davidson keeps control of Rock as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Davidson gets caught napping as Rock dives in and scores a takedown. Davidson manages to retain guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Rock wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving. Davidson is looking for a triangle but Rock pushes his legs off easily.
Davidson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rock stands up over Davidson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rock controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Davidson looking to control.
Rock postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Davidson being controlled here, momentarily. Davidson looking for subs off his back but Rock has passed one foot through into half guard.
Davidson is breathing heavily. Rock stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davidson is refusing to be controlled, as Rock sits in half guard. Davidson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rock stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Davidson to get to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rock dives in and scores a takedown into Davidson's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rock lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rock is stalling in the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christian Rock dominated that round. That's time! Davidson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rock scores with a takedown into Davidson's guard. Rock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Rock trying to control but Davidson is working from the bottom. Rock stops Davidson from standing up. Rock trying to control the position from guard on top but Davidson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Christian Rock hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rock drives through and clinches with Davidson against the cage.
Davidson tightens his grip and picks Rock up, before dumping him to the ground. Rock manages to land in guard. Davidson wants to get up but he can't break Rock's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Davidson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rock to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Davidson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rock pulls down on the head and he's put Davidson to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Christian Rock! Christian Rock bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
