Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Koyuki Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Poleto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dutra might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Moon on the water. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poleto wants to clinch. Dutra goes for a double leg but Poleto avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Poleto continues to drive forward. Poleto gets underhooks to prevent Dutra's takedown attempt.
Dutra is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Koyuki Dutra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dutra tries to score a body lock takedown but Poleto shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Poleto looking to stall.
Dutra turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Dutra throwing shots but missing, from side control. Dutra looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Poleto is avoiding damage well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Poleto is looking for a sweep. Poleto pushes Dutra away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dutra gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Dutra swings around for an armbar but Poleto sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dutra's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dutra has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Poleto throws a strike but Dutra rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Poleto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Poleto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dutra controls the pace. Dutra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dutra postures up in Poleto's guard and throws a big left but Poleto blocks it. Dutra trying to control the position from guard on top but Poleto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dutra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Koyuki Dutra just wasn't active enough. Nice takedown defense from Dutra. No joy for Poleto on that attempt. Poleto gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dutra drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Poleto dives on top into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dutra looking for a triangle here. Poleto is fighting it but it looks tight! Dutra pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Poleto is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Koyuki Dutra! Koyuki Dutra spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. The defeated Carl Poleto had this to say: 'Hey he is a good fighter and um you know I was not able to get the better of him'.
