Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Stevens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Webster! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Webster scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. A swing and a miss from Webster. Stevens swings for the body but Webster moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Webster has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Webster closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stevens circles away. Stevens misses with an uppercut. Stevens seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Webster misses with an uppercut. Stevens saw that one coming. A cross from Webster lands. Stevens avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice uppercut there from Stevens. Lance Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Webster throws a lazy right hand but Stevens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Webster misses with a body shot.
Webster moves out of range as Stevens strikes. Webster throws an overhand right that lands on Stevens's shoulder, as Stevens tries to avoid the shot. Webster uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stevens. Stevens uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Webster.
Webster thows a body shot but no joy. Stevens connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Webster momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens throws the left hand but Webster avoids the punch easily. Webster jabs at Stevens's body. A big right from Stevens misses. Stevens scores with a jab. Webster acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Webster tries to land a leg kick but Stevens saw it coming and moves away.
Stevens throws a looping overhand right but Webster ducks down to avoid it. Stevens swings away with a body shot that misses
and Webster counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Webster. Stevens is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Webster preventing the sweep. Webster trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Webster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Webster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Webster working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Stevens's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Webster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Webster throwing strikes but missing. Stevens avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stevens has Webster pulled in close to control his posture. Stevens looking for a sweep. Not yet Stevens, not yet. Webster lands a couple of digs. Webster stops Stevens from standing up. Stevens working a defensive guard but Webster manages to pass into side control anyway.
Webster scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Stevens to see if he's OK. Webster just content to control the position. Stevens is looking to regain half guard here but Webster keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webster throwing strikes but Stevens manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Webster is looking to reverse the position. Stevens has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Webster wants to land a leg kick but Stevens is out of range. Stevens cracks Webster with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Webster lands with a shot to the body. Stevens misses with an uppercut. Lance Stevens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stevens swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stevens throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Stevens digs a good hook to Webster's body.
Stevens lands a really nice looking cross but Webster seems unphased.
Webster throws a lazy right hand but Stevens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Webster lands with a right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevens misses with a lunging right hand
and Webster counters with a lovely shot to the body. Stevens looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stevens on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Webster with a jab. A lazy left from Stevens finds it's target. Stevens lunges at Webster with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Webster's hand.
Webster is rocked! Stevens misses with a hook
and Webster counters with a left to the body. Webster is still on wobbly legs! Can Stevens finish him? Stevens throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Webster counters with a straight right hand. Stevens throws a lazy uppercut

and Webster counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Stevens wants to control but Webster is keeping busy and won't allow it. Stevens is trying to stand.
Webster throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Webster thows a huge punch but Stevens dodges it nicely.
Webster seems to have recovered his senses. Webster wants to advance to full mount but Stevens doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Webster throwing strikes from guard but Stevens blocks nicely. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stevens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Webster. Stevens keeping moving, preventing Webster from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Webster dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Stevens throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A slow jab from Webster misses its intended target. Nice cross by Stevens. Webster uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stevens. A telegraphed right hand from Stevens misses the target. Stevens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Webster manages to avoid it. Webster connects with a jab. Webster is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stevens sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A left lands for Stevens. Stevens misses with a lunging right hand
and Webster counters with a nice body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Webster takes one to the chin there. Stevens throws a monster overhand right that drops Webster! Stevens follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lance Stevens! Lance Stevens tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
