Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Will Do! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ted Bundy! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bundy. Bundy takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
It looks like Ted Bundy has been cut. Bundy scores with a hook. Do checks a leg kick. Do swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bundy counters with a lovely shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Do takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. We've been informed that Bundy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Bundy throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bundy lands the left hand. Do throws a series of punches but Bundy moves out of range. Do keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bundy. Do misses the shot to the body. Do tries to clinch but Bundy moves out of range. Bundy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bundy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Do. Do misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Do throws a combination that misses and Bundy counters with an outside leg kick.
Bundy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bundy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Bundy swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Do. Bundy misses with a shot to the body and Do counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Bundy throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bundy leaves Do with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fighters circle momentarily. Bundy darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bundy cracks Do on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Do falls backwards against the cage. Bundy follows up with more strikes that drop Do to his knees. Bundy keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Do! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ted Bundy! A very excited looking Ted Bundy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
