Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Liam Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Chee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liam Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Chee! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chee feints and then cracks Ward's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ward down. Ward takes a swing at Chee's ribcage but misses. A nice inside leg kick there by Chee. That's going to slow Ward down. Ward just misses with a punch to the body.
Chee lets loose with a powerful body kick. Ward will feel that in the morning. Chee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ward's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Chee trying to control but Ward is working from the bottom. Chee controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ward has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Ward keeping moving, preventing Chee from controlling successfully. Chee is looking to work some ground and pound but Ward has wrist control. Chee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ward works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ward avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Chee looking to pass the guard. Ward looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chee trying to control the position from guard on top but Ward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chee postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Chee pushes down on Ward's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chee seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ward does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ward looking for submissions off his back. Ward looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ward tries to roll over but Chee keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Chee wants to work for an arm triangle but Ward is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chee thows a huge punch but Ward dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ward keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Chee wants to take a breather but Ward is having none of it. Chee is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Chee is looking for a kimura but Ward is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chee to get the leverage. Ward slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ward has momentary wrist control but Chee slips an elbow through the middle. Ward has his foot on Chee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chee works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chee's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ward keeping moving, preventing Chee from controlling successfully. Ward throws his legs up looking for a submission but Chee uses it to pass to side control.
Ward takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chee taking a breather here. Chee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ward keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ward wants to control but Chee postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kim Chee dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
An inside leg kick lands from Chee. Ward scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ward throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chee fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ward to the ground. Chee is now in Ward's guard. Chee works a leg free and moves into half guard. Chee landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ward trying to control from the bottom.
Chee slips a nice elbow through Ward's hands, connecting with Ward's forehead. Chee trying to control from half guard but Ward is working away. Chee working Ward over with strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ward is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Chee seems to be working for a kimura but Ward defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chee not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ward actively working from the bottom here. Chee trying to control from Ward's half guard. Ward has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Ward controls Chee momentarily but Chee frees himself. Ward looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Ward preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ward is keeping the position for now. Kim Chee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Chee throws a nice outside leg kick. Kim Chee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A decent looking body kick lands there for Chee. Chee throws a leg kick that misses. Chee fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ward. Chee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Chee misses with an attempted mid kick.
Chee closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ward did well to prevent Chee getting side control. Chee misses with a head shot. Ward uses the momentum to regain guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chee throws a big right hand that misses. Chee has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Chee postures up in Ward's guard and throws a big left but Ward blocks it.

Nice work there by Chee! Very nice indeed!
