Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elbrys Gora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir comes to the ring accompanied by Spoilin For A Fight . Gora is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cadillac Records - Howlin' Wolf Sings . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Elbrys Gora! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir feints and as Gora raises his hands in defense, Mir changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mir drops back looking for a leg! Gora is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gora manages to kick Mir off! Mir jumps back into Gora's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gora is on top in guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Mir's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Mir looking for a guillotine here but Gora defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gora is pushing down on Mir's leg trying to pass to half guard. OK we're going to have a standup here. Elbrys Gora hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Gora closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mir's guard.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Gora trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gora takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mir is working to get back to half guard.
Gora goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mir is on top in guard.
Mir won't allow Gora to sweep him here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir wants to control from the top but Gora keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mir controlling from the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice sprawl there from Mir as Gora shoots in. Mir closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gora circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir. Mir tries for a takedown but Gora sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gora fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Mir enables Gora to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mir manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gora wants to pass the guard but Mir is keeping the position. Mir is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gora trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Elbrys Gora will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Frank Mir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elbrys Gora. Mir leaves Gora with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gora closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mir to the mat! Mir manages to get full guard. Mir tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gora wants to control from the top but Mir keeps moving. Mir is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mir looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gora is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mir has his foot on Gora's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gora works his way back into a safe position though. Gora stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mir swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gora avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gora tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gora has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mir tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Gora easily slips into full mount! Mir is squirming around, avoiding Gora's attempts to control the action. Gora takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Let's hope that Gora has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mir is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Gora is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mir is forced to tap! Great finish!
