PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mega Funkyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Lankari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funkyama comes to the ring accompanied by Bon Jovi: Bad Medicine. Lankari has chosen AC/DC - Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Hans Lankari!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Funkyama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've been hearing good reports from Funkyama's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Funkyama wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lankari, who protects the arm well.

I really don't envy Lankari right now.

The referee asks Funkyama politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Funkyama prefers to stall for the moment though.

Funkyama tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Funkyama has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Funkyama has hold of Lankari's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Lankari seems comfortable defending it but Funkyama has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Lankari is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Lankari is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Funkyama couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mega Funkyama!
