Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leos Karanous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Julio Pereira! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Karanous defends it nicely. Pereira shoots in and bounces Karanous off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Karanous working for submissions but it's allowed Pereira to get to half guard.
Pereira is looking to advance position but Karanous won't allow it. Karanous is pressing down on Pereira's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Pereira got a little sloppy there for a moment and Karanous has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! We've been hearing good reports from Karanous's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Pereira trying to control but Karanous is working from the bottom. Karanous isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pereira stacks Karanous on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pereira! Karanous gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
