Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McKinney darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if McKinney is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
McKinney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McKinney is pressing down on Bo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bo is holding on for now.
Bo wants to get back to his feet.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw McKinney working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

McKinney is looking for a kimura but Bo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McKinney to get the leverage.
McKinney is thwarting Bo's attempts to control the position.
Bo tries to kick McKinney off but McKinney keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bo tries to get out of the position.

McKinney not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bo is trying to maintain the position but McKinney is very close to passing his half guard.

McKinney is taking a breather. Bo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bo scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but McKinney manages to mount him!
McKinney lands a big elbow.

Bo tries to hold on but McKinney postures up.
McKinney connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
McKinney controlling the position easily from mount.
McKinney won't let Bo get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Bo is squirming around, avoiding McKinney's attempts to control the action.
McKinney landing punches.
Bo tries to lock up and control but McKinney gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
McKinney has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

McKinney pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
McKinney wants to control the pace but Bo is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bo tries to hold on but McKinney pushes him away.
Bo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bo is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McKinney wants to control the pace but Bo is squirming around nicely.
McKinney avoids the attempt from Bo to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bo throws a series of punches but McKinney avoids them all with ease.
McKinney slips a jab and a cross from Bo.
Bo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice takedown defense from McKinney. No joy for Bo on that attempt.
McKinney avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McKinney explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Jon Bo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bo doesn't manage to clinch there - McKinney circles away.

Bo throws a sloppy head kick

and McKinney counters with a takedown into side control.
Jason McKinney has got the better of the ground game so far.
McKinney advances nicely into full mount.
Bo wants to hold on but McKinney pushes him away.
Bo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McKinney on the ground.

McKinney lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

McKinney has hold of Bo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McKinney lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bo hang on?
McKinney tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
