Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Popov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ping Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Popov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Russian National Anthem. Ping Lin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Popov manages to avoid it.
Lin throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Tomas Popov has been cut.
Lin tries a head kick but it misses.
Lin lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Lin sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Popov to the ground! Lin dives into full mount looking to finish!
Popov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Popov tries to get out of the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lin tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Popov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lin wants to stand but Popov is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Popov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Popov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lin tries to avoid it but Popov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lin to the ground. Lin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lin throws a nice head kick!

Tomas Popov's cut is getting worse.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Popov.

Popov shoots in and drives through. Lin sprawls well.
Lin tries to clinch there but Popov circles away.

Ping Lin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Popov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lin circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomas Popov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Popov counters with a one-two to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Popov. Lin does a little dance to reset his feet.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Popov. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Popov is breathing heavily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Popov tries for a takedown but Lin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Lin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Lin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Popov fails to land the takedown.
Lin throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lin's corner calls for a 1-2. Lin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Popov has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lin.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Popov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Lin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

That's time! Popov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Popov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Lin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lin lands with a straight right. Popov didn't see that one coming.
Lin scores with a sloppy right hand. Popov should have avoided that one.
Popov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lin. Lin obviously looking to wear him down.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Popov ducks straight into an uppercut from Lin and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Popov manages to regain guard straight away.

Jeez, Tomas Popov's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Lin is looking to stand up but Popov won't let him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ping Lin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Popov misses with a series of wild punches.
Popov takes a kick to the side of the head.
