Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Brown! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Rush! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown shoots and misses and Rush counters with a single leg into guard. Brown didn't expect that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Rush trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rush throwing strikes but missing. Rush stays in close to Brown's body and controls the position. Brown is looking to sweep but instead, Rush has passed into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rush not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rush looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rush tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brown knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush is nestled in close to Brown, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Brown has hold of Rush's hands but Rush slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Rush stalling. Rush takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Rush with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown trying to hold on to Rush's head to control him but Rush postures up.

Rush controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush working away from the top, dropping strikes. Brown is looking to get to half guard. Brown wants to control but Rush is having none of it. Rush is landing with some decent strikes but Brown is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rush looking to finish Brown with some ground and pound. This is bad for Brown! Brown taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rush working away from the top, dropping strikes. Rush tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rush prevents Brown from getting the reversal. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rush controlling from the full mount. Brown really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rush is in the full mount, landing strikes. Rush fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Georges Rush dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Brown wants to clinch but Rush slips to the side and Rush counters with a single leg into guard. Brown didn't expect that. Georges Rush has got the better of the ground game so far. Brown looking to control but Rush passes into half guard.
Brown taking some punishment here, with Rush in his half guard. Rush is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Rush trying to control from half guard but Brown is working away. Rush is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Brown has managed to free his arm - good work. Brown actively working from the bottom here. Rush wants to work for an arm triangle but Brown is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Brown trying to control from the bottom.
Nice strikes from Rush there. Rush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brown keeps working. Brown is looking to escape. Rush with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Rush moves into full mount! Brown won't be happy about that! Rush working away from the top, dropping strikes. Rush can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brown is looking to escape. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brown is working to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush controlling the position easily from mount. Rush landing punches. Rush looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown wants to control but Rush is having none of it. Rush throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Brown has his hands clasped together but Rush breaks the hold and Brown is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Rush!
