Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nik Reeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Altus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reeder comes to the cage accompanied by The End Of Heartache. Maximus Altus looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nik Reeder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximus Altus! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reeder tries to score a power double leg takedown but Altus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reeder somewhat. Reeder closes this distance looking for a takedown but Altus circles away. Altus throws a head kick but Reeder moves out of range.
Reeder fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nik Reeder. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reeder shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Altus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Altus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Reeder, into his guard.

Altus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Reeder is tightening it up a little... Altus has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Altus reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Altus taps out! Nice BJJ there by Reeder!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Nik Reeder! A relieved looking Nik Reeder thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
