Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Stew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Fadden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arthur Stew!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stew throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fadden's waist but Fadden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stew off to one side.

Stew gets a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Fadden.
Stew wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Stew wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fadden has him pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fadden takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Fadden's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Stew is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fadden's half guard.
Stew wants to take a breather but Fadden is having none of it.
Fadden trying to control but Stew postures up.
Fadden holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Stew sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fadden defending well though.
Stew wants to get back to his feet.
Stew prevents Fadden from improving his position.
Fadden controlling the position well.
Stew thows a huge punch but Fadden dodges it nicely.
Stew wants to pass to mount but Fadden is defending the position.
Fadden on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fadden tries to get out of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Stew tries for a takedown but Fadden sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Fadden misses.
A low kick from Fadden misses
and Stew counters with a three punch combo that has Fadden backing up. Fadden nods at Stew to acknowledge the strikes.
Stew rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fadden moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fadden punishes Stew's body with a nice straight punch.
Stew looks winded!
Fadden throws a series of strikes that have Stew backpedaling.
Fadden fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Stew is out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fadden falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stew counters with a one-two to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fadden clinches up with Stew and pushes him back against the cage.
Fadden lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Stew or not.

Fadden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fadden is looking to chop away at Stew's legs.
Stew tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stew pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fadden throws a shot to the body.
Fadden wants to slow Stew down by chopping away at his legs.

Fadden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stew looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Stew gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Fadden controlling the pace for now.
Stew is bucking up trying to escape but Fadden cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Fadden cracks Stew with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fadden sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice elbow there by Fadden.
Fadden scoring with strikes but Stew is staying in there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fadden landing strikes, looking to finish!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fadden working for a guillotine from mount but Stew is in no mood to give up.
Fadden looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Fadden dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Stew looks to score with a jab to the body but Fadden is just out of range.
John Fadden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stew looks to land a body kick but Fadden moved away.
Stew dives in and grabs Fadden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fadden pushes down on Stew's head and hops out.
Fadden's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Fadden duly obliges.


It looks like Arthur Stew has been cut.

Stew gets tackled into the cage by Fadden. Fadden maintains the clinch.
Fadden presses Stew against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Stew wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Fadden keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stew's efforts to push away.
Stew is trying to break free.

Fadden pulls guard effortlessly.
Stew is breathing heavily.
Fadden has control of Stew's left arm, preventing Stew from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stew drops back looking for a leg! Fadden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fadden manages to kick Stew off! Stew jumps back into Fadden's guard.

Fadden has his foot on Stew's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stew works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fadden manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fadden is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Fadden working for a submission but Stew is keeping him at bay.
Fadden lands with some strikes.
Fadden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stew on the ground.
Fadden content just to control the position here.
Stew can't escape the position.
Stew wants to control but Fadden is having none of it.

Fadden's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Stew tries to buck Fadden off but he can't manage it.
Fadden lands a nice shot to the head.
Stew tries to hold on but Fadden pushes him away.

Fadden raining down shots from the mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Fadden cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Fadden fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Stew is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Fadden! Stew is hurt baaadly! Fadden is firing away with more strikes - Stew is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Fadden!
