The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gomes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Gomes tries to land a leg kick but Rothstein saw it coming and moves away.
Rothstein scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Rothstein misses with a body kick.
Rothstein throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rothstein looks to land a body kick but Gomes moved away.

Rothstein fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gomes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gomes. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gomes throws a right hand that misses
and Rothstein counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arnold Rothstein dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The crowd cheers as Gomes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rothstein doesn't seem phased though.
Rothstein is rocked!
Gomes fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Rothstein to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Rothstein looks to clinch but Gomes throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Rothstein taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

An out of breath Dave Gomes thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
