Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Westen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Storm has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gary Westen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Westen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Storm!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Westen.
Westen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Storm lands a jab to the nose.
Westen walks into a left hand.
Storm moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Storm getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Westen shoots in but no luck this time.
Westen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Storm ducks under a wild hook from Westen.
Storm thuds a left hand into Westen's body.
Storm scores with a body shot.
Westen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Storm connects with a looping right hand.
Storm paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Westen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Westen drops his hands momentarily and Storm takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Storm is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Westen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
A combination from Westen does no damage.
Nice uppercut there from Storm.
Westen fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gary Westen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Storm moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Westen misses with a takedown attempt - Storm sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Westen shoots in for a takedown but Storm shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Westen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Storm lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Storm stalks Westen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Westen's face. Westen staggers backwards, shaken.
Storm smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


Westen is rocked!
Westen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Oh Westen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Storm leaves Westen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Westen seems to have got his legs back now.
Westen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Storm lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Storm looks winded!
Westen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Westen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Storm stuffs the takedown.
A right-left combo lands from Storm.
Storm leaves Westen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Storm lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Westen. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Westen shoots in and drives through. Storm sprawls well.
Storm might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A left lands for Storm.

enabling Storm to counter with a crisp jab.

Westen walks into a stiff left hand from Storm.
Storm is working the combinations to good effect here.
Westen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Storm's waist but Storm gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Westen off to one side.
Westen throws a right hand that Storm ducks under and follows up with a left that Storm also avoids with ease.

Westen slips a jab and a cross from Storm.
Westen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Storm swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Westen.
Storm throws a looping overhand right but Westen ducks down to avoid it.
Westen tries to clinch up.
Westen shoots in looking for a takedown but Storm manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Westen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Westen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Storm's waist but Storm gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Westen off to one side.

A nice combination there by Storm.
Westen walks into a straight right hand from Storm.
Westen tries for a takedown but Storm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Alex Storm is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Storm throws a combination. Westen tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Westen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Westen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Storm sprawls well. Storm wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Westen gets slowly back to his feet.
Westen takes one on the button.
Storm lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Westen circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Westen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Storm pinned against the cage. Storm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Storm leaves Westen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Storm bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Westen's head.

Westen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Storm avoids it really well and circles away.

Gary Westen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Westen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Storm was covering up waiting for the punch and Westen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Storm holds on and takes a little breather.

Westen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Westen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Storm is fending him off so far but Westen persists. Nope, Storm circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Storm slaps away a takedown attempt from Westen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Westen shoots in for a takedown but Storm shows good takedown defense.
Storm wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Westen jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Westen drives through with a takedown into Storm's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Westen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Westen postures up.

Westen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Westen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Storm swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Storm wants to hit a switch here but Westen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Storm there!
Storm tries to hold on but Westen postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Westen tries to control but Storm wriggling away.

Storm is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Westen locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Storm is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gary Westen!
