Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Gadd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dustin Gadd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Vargas! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vargas closes the distance and clinches up with Gadd, looking for a takedown. Vargas pushes Gadd against the cage but Gadd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gadd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Vargas tries to roll over but Gadd keeps him under control. Gadd missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Gadd sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vargas defending well though. Gadd wants to free his trapped foot but Vargas is holding on for dear life with his legs. Vargas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Vargas is not content to let Gadd control the position. Nice strikes from Gadd there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Vargas misses with a few strikes there.
Gadd shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Vargas throws a push kick but Gadd slaps the foot to one side. Gadd blocks the body kick.
Gadd fakes the leg kick and cracks Vargas in the body. Gadd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vargas's waist but Vargas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gadd off to one side. Gadd fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dustin Gadd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gadd.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gadd is looking to take a break and control but Vargas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gadd gets to mount! Vargas was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Vargas blocking the ground and pound. Gadd looking to control but Vargas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Vargas regains half guard. Vargas wants to get back to his feet.

Gadd drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gadd trying to control the position from guard on top but Vargas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gadd wants to stand but Vargas has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Vargas keeping full guard, as Gadd tries to pass.

Gadd might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Vargas wants to stand up but Gadd is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gadd cracks Vargas with a solid left hand.

Gadd wants to clinch up but Vargas keeps it at a distance. Vargas tries to clinch but Gadd moves away and Gadd counters with a nice leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vargas is not content to let Gadd control the position. Vargas pushes Gadd off looking to stand but Gadd dives back in and keeps control.

Gadd is nestled in close to Vargas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice sprawl there from Vargas as Gadd shoots in. Vargas fails with the takedown and Gadd connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Dustin Gadd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vargas swats away the attempt to clinch by Gadd. Vargas throws a series of punches but Gadd avoids them all with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gadd is looking to land body kicks. Gadd throws a sloppy head kick so Vargas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Vargas looking to sit in guard and control but Gadd gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Vargas keeping moving, preventing Gadd from controlling successfully. Vargas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gadd sitting in guard here, content to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vargas seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dave Vargas will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Gadd is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vargas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gadd is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gadd shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gadd was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Vargas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Vargas tries to roll over but Gadd keeps him under control. Vargas pushes Gadd off but Gadd dives into side control.
Gadd looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Vargas is avoiding damage well.
Vargas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gadd stands up and beckons Vargas to his feet. Gadd tries a head kick but it misses.
Vargas scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Vargas tries for a kimura but Gadd is defending well. Vargas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gadd to his feet. Vargas throws a low kick, looking for Gadd's leg but Gadd calmly moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Dustin Gadd showed his dominance in that final round. I think Gadd has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
