Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demarcus Bate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthew Murdock could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Demarcus Bate's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bate does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nice defenses there by Bate.
Murdock misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bate moves out of range of the body kick from Murdock.
Bate lands a nice hook to Murdock's body. Murdock takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bate connects with an inside leg kick.

Murdock dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bate. That did some damage!

Bate fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Murdock has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bate has Murdock pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Murdock manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Murdock pushes off an throws an elbow but Bate leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bate got a little sloppy there for a moment and Murdock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bate has managed to get both his arms back between Murdock's legs - danger averted.

Demarcus Bate comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bate has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Demarcus Bate decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
