Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kupal Kupalogs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Orbiso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kupal Kupalogs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kurt Orbiso! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Orbiso shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kupalogs eats them both and turns towards Orbiso to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Kupal Kupalogs has been cut. Kupalogs tries to score a power double leg takedown but Orbiso sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kupalogs somewhat. Kupalogs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Orbiso but Orbiso pushes him off and we're back to square one. Orbiso misses with a two punch combination.
Kupalogs scores with a takedown into Orbiso's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kupalogs tries to free his leg and advance position but Orbiso is retaining full guard. Kupalogs throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Orbiso works some decent striking defense from the bottom. We've been hearing good reports from Kupalogs's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kupalogs is looking to sweep but instead, Orbiso has passed into half guard.

Orbiso tries to keep control of the position but Kupalogs is staying busy. Kupalogs tries to escape but Orbiso has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Orbiso thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Orbiso tries to clinch up but Kupalogs circles away and keeps his distance. Kupalogs shoots for a double leg takedown but Orbiso sprawls well. He's pushed Kupalogs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kupalogs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Orbiso's guard. Orbiso is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Orbiso is stalling here. Kupalogs is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Orbiso seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kupalogs has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kupalogs working the ground and pound. Orbiso regains half guard, as Kupalogs was trying to land strikes. Kupalogs trying to control from Orbiso's half guard. Orbiso has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Kupal Kupalogs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kupalogs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Orbiso is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Orbiso fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kupalogs misses with a takedown attempt - Orbiso sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Orbiso lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kupalogs at a distance.

Orbiso has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Orbiso throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Orbiso thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Orbiso tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Orbiso throws a strike aimed at the side of Kupalogs's head but Kupalogs avoids it well. An elbow from Orbiso crashes against the mat.

Kurt Orbiso showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Kupal Kupalogs's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kupalogs on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Orbiso tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kupalogs swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kupalogs shoots in for a takedown but Orbiso shows good takedown defense. Oooh a lovely combination from Orbiso sends Kupalogs down but not out. Orbiso dives into side control looking to finish.
Kupalogs is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Orbiso tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Oh Kupalogs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The ground and pound from Orbiso seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Orbiso working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Orbiso throws an elbow but Kupalogs slips to the side and avoids it well. Orbiso tries to score with some ground and pound. Kupalogs controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Kupalogs seems to have got his legs back now. The strikes coming from Orbiso are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Kupalogs is not content to let Orbiso control the position. Orbiso sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kupalogs is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kupalogs parries the strikes from Orbiso easily there. Orbiso is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kupalogs to escape.
