Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiery Chabal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curtis Angel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thiery Chabal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Angel! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chabal avoids it really well and circles away. Chabal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Angel fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Angel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chabal paws at him with a jab and circles away. Angel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chabal defends well and Angel ends up having to push Chabal into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Thiery Chabal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis Angel. Chabal is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Angel wants the takedown. Chabal is fighting it off but Angel persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Chabal's guard against the cage. Chabal manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Angel manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Thiery Chabal just wasn't active enough. Angel fails in his attempt to clinch.

Angel shoots for a takedown but Chabal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Chabal lands a head kick!
Angel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Chabal throws a head kick that misses. Chabal dodges the punch combination from Angel.

and Chabal counters with a big head kick but Angel shrugs it off. Angel avoids the head kick by Chabal.
Angel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Angel wants it to stay on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Angel. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chabal tries to clinch up but Angel circles away and keeps his distance. Chabal looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Angel tries to land a body kick and Chabal counters with a flying knee. Nice.
It looks like Curtis Angel has been cut.

Angel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chabal defends well and Angel ends up having to push Chabal into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Angel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Chabal fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A good leg kick by Chabal. Angel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Curtis Angel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chabal lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Angel moves in looking to clinch but Chabal pushes him off. Angel throws a leg kick and Chabal counters with a head kick. That will keep Angel thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Angel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Angel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chabal swats him away and circles back towards the center. Angel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chabal as he jumps to the side. Chabal gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Chabal closes the distance and clinches up with Angel, looking for a takedown. Chabal pushes Angel against the cage but Angel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Angel blocks a head kick by Chabal.

Chabal slaps away a takedown attempt from Angel, before circling back to the center of the mat. Angel throws a head kick but Chabal moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chabal lands a head kick!

Thiery Chabal dominated that round. The cut man is working on Curtis Angel's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Chabal throws a sloppy head kick and Angel moves out of range easily. Angel moves to clinch but Chabal breaks away and Chabal counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Angel wants to break the clinch but can't.

We've been informed that Angel has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Angel struggles to land a body shot inside as Chabal controls his hands.
Angel is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Chabal to keep the fight standing. Angel jumps guard.
Angel is trying to control the position but Chabal postures up. Angel looking for a guillotine here but Chabal defends easily.
Angel scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Angel clinches. Chabal is trying to push Angel away but Angel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Angel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chabal shoots in looking for a takedown but Angel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chabal's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiery Chabal. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fight stays on the outside here - Angel looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chabal has closed the distance and engaged Angel in a clinch.

Angel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Angel misses with a leg kick and Chabal counters with a good low kick that Angel was not able to check.

Angel tries a low kick but Chabal avoids it. Chabal scores with a head kick. Angel tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chabal fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Chabal has his takedown stuffed and Angel counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Angel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Angel wants to control from the top but Chabal keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Curtis Angel will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Curtis Angel's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Chabal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chabal closes the distance and clinches. Angel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chabal's efforts to push away. Chabal is trying to force a seperation but Angel has the dominant position. Angel has Chabal pressed against the cage, preventing Chabal from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Chabal gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Angel.

Thiery Chabal is winning the standup battle so far. Chabal swats away the attempt to clinch by Angel. Angel fails in his attempt to clinch. Angel misses with a two punch combination.
Angel shoots in and drives through. Chabal sprawls well. Chabal moves in looking to clinch but Angel pushes him off. Angel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chabal sprawls well. Chabal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Angel gets slowly back to his feet. Thiery Chabal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis Angel. Chabal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Chabal stays in close to Angel's body and controls the position. Chabal trying to control the position from guard on top but Angel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chabal throwing strikes but missing. Chabal looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Angel looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chabal trying to control but Angel is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Thiery Chabal. Angel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Chabal misses with a head kick.
Angel has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Angel is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chabal gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Chabal gets underhooks to prevent Angel's takedown attempt.
Angel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chabal breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Curtis Angel. I think Angel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
