Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leon DeLaurier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Awesome McBadass! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeLaurier is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McBadass's half guard. DeLaurier thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McBadass's head. McBadass wants to improve his position but DeLaurier is controlling well.
DeLaurier wants to control but McBadass is keeping him busy. DeLaurier drops an elbow to the side of McBadass's head. McBadass is trying to maintain the position but DeLaurier is very close to passing his half guard. McBadass wants to improve his position but DeLaurier is controlling well.
DeLaurier is keen to just control but McBadass is a slippery customer. DeLaurier is looking to stall here but McBadass recovers full guard. McBadass utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeLaurier wants to control from the top but McBadass keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DeLaurier missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. DeLaurier trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McBadass is working an open guard so DeLaurier takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. DeLaurier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McBadass moves away. DeLaurier moves into the clinch. DeLaurier turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! McBadass wants to control but DeLaurier postures up. DeLaurier looking to punish the body of his opponent here but McBadass is avoiding damage well.
DeLaurier has knee on belly and moves into mount. DeLaurier looking to control but McBadass is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McBadass can do anything to dispel that myth. DeLaurier has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McBadass's face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McBadass is in a horrible position here. DeLaurier smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
McBadass wants to control but DeLaurier is having none of it. McBadass wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by DeLaurier.
DeLaurier misses with some ground and pound and McBadass recovers position to half guard. DeLaurier is pressing down on McBadass's thigh, looking to free his foot. McBadass is holding on for now. DeLaurier thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McBadass's head. DeLaurier stands up out of the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBadass tries to sprawl but DeLaurier drives through with a takedown into half guard. McBadass is looking to improve his position.
McBadass looks winded! DeLaurier not landing any meaningful shots this time. DeLaurier missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. DeLaurier trying to control from half guard but McBadass is working away. DeLaurier wants to pass the guard but McBadass is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeLaurier thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. McBadass on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McBadass is looking for a sweep. DeLaurier is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. DeLaurier thows a huge punch but McBadass dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier not landing any meaningful shots this time. McBadass is staying active underneath DeLaurier, who seems content to just control the action from this position. McBadass tries to roll over but DeLaurier keeps him under control. DeLaurier is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McBadass has managed to free his arm - good work. This has been an exciting period of action! DeLaurier wants to lay and pray for a moment but McBadass keeps working. DeLaurier is just content to waste time from the top position. McBadass takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. DeLaurier wants to control from the top but McBadass keeps moving. McBadass preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leon DeLaurier dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
DeLaurier shoots in and gets a takedown into McBadass's guard. DeLaurier stands and steps away. McBadass gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. DeLaurier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McBadass moves away. DeLaurier misses with a wild combination.
Leon DeLaurier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. DeLaurier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McBadass moves out of range and avoids them all easily. DeLaurier shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McBadass napping and manages to drive through into side control! McBadass is not content to let DeLaurier control the position. DeLaurier working the strikes but McBadass uses the opportunity to regain half guard. DeLaurier passes to full mount! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! DeLaurier lands a nice shot to the head.
It looks like Awesome McBadass has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeLaurier postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McBadass looks a forlorn figure.
McBadass is breathing heavily. DeLaurier lands a nice shot to the head. McBadass taking shots to the head. Leon DeLaurier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. DeLaurier throwing strikes here but McBadass is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
DeLaurier lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
DeLaurier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McBadass can do to turn this around? DeLaurier cracks McBadass with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! DeLaurier putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! DeLaurier in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

DeLaurier looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBadass really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, DeLaurier cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
DeLaurier goes for an armbar but he's not got it… McBadass turns into him and now he's in DeLaurier's guard.
McBadass controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. DeLaurier looking to hit a scissor sweep but McBadass is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier keeping moving, preventing McBadass from controlling successfully. DeLaurier is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. DeLaurier wants to sweep here but McBadass controlling him for the moment. DeLaurier might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. DeLaurier manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McBadass manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McBadass is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. DeLaurier is looking to work some ground and pound but McBadass has wrist control. DeLaurier trying to control but McBadass is working from the bottom. DeLaurier postures up in McBadass's guard and throws a big left but McBadass blocks it. DeLaurier trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! DeLaurier trying to control the position from guard on top but McBadass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. DeLaurier throws an elbow that misses. McBadass uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in DeLaurier's guard. Nice move by McBadass! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leon DeLaurier dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Awesome McBadass's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
DeLaurier shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McBadass napping and manages to drive through into side control! DeLaurier looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. DeLaurier trying to control the action but McBadass is working from the bottom. DeLaurier wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McBadass, who protects the arm well. McBadass parries the strikes from DeLaurier easily there. DeLaurier is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McBadass to escape.
McBadass is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked DeLaurier off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. McBadass keeps control of the position as DeLaurier tries to break free.
DeLaurier breaks McBadass's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
McBadass controls DeLaurier momentarily but DeLaurier frees himself. DeLaurier throws an elbow that misses. McBadass uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in DeLaurier's guard. Nice move by McBadass! McBadass takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. McBadass looking to sit in guard and control but DeLaurier gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DeLaurier accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. DeLaurier trying to control but McBadass is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McBadass is on top in guard.
McBadass preventing the sweep. McBadass throwing strikes but missing. DeLaurier looking to hit a scissor sweep but McBadass is one step ahead there. DeLaurier is adopting a defensive guard. McBadass looking to sit in guard and control but DeLaurier gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier chips away with some ground and pound. DeLaurier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McBadass is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of DeLaurier, into his guard. DeLaurier is trying to control the position but McBadass postures up. McBadass is pushing down on DeLaurier's leg trying to pass to half guard. DeLaurier is fighting to maintain full guard but McBadass has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now DeLaurier is on top in guard.
DeLaurier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McBadass swivels though and keeps the full guard. DeLaurier trying to control the position from guard on top but McBadass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McBadass keeping full guard, as DeLaurier tries to pass. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McBadass keeping moving, preventing DeLaurier from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Leon DeLaurier showed his dominance in that final round. Well DeLaurier has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
