Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul has chosen Revolution as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorge Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Paul! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz's jab looks to have found its range, popping Paul under the eye. Cruz throws a leg kick that is checked and Paul counters with a good, hard body kick but Cruz shrugs it off. Paul throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cruz lands a jab. Paul dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cruz. That did some damage! Cruz throws a looping overhand right but Paul ducks down to avoid it. Paul lands the left hand. Cruz is looking to slow Paul down with leg kicks. Cruz tries to clinch up and Paul counters with a straight right hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A clash of legs there as Paul blocks the low kick. Paul looks for the body kick but Cruz saw that one coming. Cruz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Paul connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Cruz to the floor! Paul dives in looking for the finish!
It looks like Jorge Cruz has been cut. Paul missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Paul stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Cruz to get to his feet. Cruz misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paul moves out of range as Cruz strikes. A nice leg kick lands there from Paul. Paul lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
An inside leg kick lands from Paul. Paul buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Paul fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Paul throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A swing and a miss from Paul. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cruz throws a series of punches but Paul moves out of range. We've been informed that Paul has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Paul throws a head kick that misses. Cruz misses with a straight left. A low kick from Cruz misses and Paul counters with a nice body shot. Cruz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Paul fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cruz manages to avoid it. Cruz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cruz wants to slow Paul down by chopping away at his legs. Paul lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Cruz is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paul steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cruz. Cruz misses with a low kick as Paul jumps back. Paul connects with a leg kick. Cruz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Paul turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Paul misses with a body kick. Paul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Paul throws a quick inside leg kick. Cruz throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Paul counters with a solid body kick. Cruz takes one on the button. The fighters circle, before Paul throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Cruz's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Paul lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Ron Paul!
