Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between demian maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex KwonDo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for demian maia has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, demian maia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex KwonDo! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! KwonDo fakes the leg kick and cracks maia in the body. maia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but KwonDo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. maia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but KwonDo swivels and escapes. KwonDo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. maia connects with a single shot there. maia lands a jab-cross combination. KwonDo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. maia could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. KwonDo fails to land a wild elbow strike.
KwonDo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by maia, who protects the arm well. KwonDo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. maia tries to control the position but he's not in luck - KwonDo easily slips into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. maia is working to get back to half guard.
KwonDo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as maia is looking to escape. maia tries to hold on but KwonDo pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. KwonDo controlling from the full mount. maia is squirming around, avoiding KwonDo's attempts to control the action. KwonDo wants to get back to his feet but maia is holding on tight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. KwonDo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. maia sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. maia wants to improve his position but KwonDo is controlling well.
maia is looking to control KwonDo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can maia avoid being mounted? maia is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. KwonDo is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, maia has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. KwonDo tries to stand and escape but maia is controlling the position. KwonDo looks gassed! KwonDo wants to pass the guard but maia is defending well. maia trying to control but KwonDo postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. maia manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. maia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. KwonDo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. KwonDo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. maia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
demian maia dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
maia tries to bum rush KwonDo with a series of wild strikes but KwonDo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. maia throws a sloppy head kick and KwonDo moves out of range easily. KwonDo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. maia shoots and misses and KwonDo counters with a single leg into guard. maia didn't expect that. maia keeping moving, preventing KwonDo from controlling successfully. maia looking for a triangle here. KwonDo is fighting it but it looks tight! maia pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, KwonDo is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). demian maia!
