Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Rapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djamel Hammouche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Djamel Hammouche was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammouche uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rapp.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

I was talking to Rapp's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hammouche throws a jab but it's blocked by Rapp.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hammouche in particular looking to stall.
Rapp slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hammouche is pushing down on Rapp's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rapp is fighting to maintain full guard but Hammouche has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hammouche wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rapp keeps working.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hammouche working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Rapp might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rapp pushes Hammouche off looking to stand but Hammouche dives back in and keeps control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rapp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hammouche moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hammouche uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rapp.

Rapp connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hammouche momentarily.

Hammouche throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Rapp counters with a crisp one two that drops Hammouche! Rapp thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hammouche to his feet! Hammouche is in big trouble!

Rapp throws a looping overhand right but Hammouche ducks down to avoid it.

Hammouche throws the kick towards the body but Rapp avoids it.
