The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sordon rushes Kartel and presses him up against the cage.

Kartel on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kartel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sordon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kartel to the mat. Kartel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Sordon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sordon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sordon keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kartel's head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sordon lands a strong strike to the head of Kartel. That's dazed him! Sordon looking to finish here. Kartel is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Sordon lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
