Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dravinski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drew Jach! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dravinski pushes Jach up against the cage in a clinch. Dravinski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jach fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dravinski moves into range and clinches up with Jach. Dravinski manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Dravinski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jach manages to get himself to full guard.
Jach isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dravinski stacks Jach on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dravinski! Dravinski is working Jach over with some ground and pound from side control. Dravinski working the ground and pound from side control. Dravinski is staying tight to Jach's torso, preventing him from escaping. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dravinski scoring with punches from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dravinski passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jach! Jach taking shots to the head. Jach takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Dravinski is in the full mount, landing strikes. Dravinski lands a couple of good shots and Jach has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Jach is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Dravinski is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Dravinski gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Dravinski gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Dravinski apologises and we restart here on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dravinski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jach is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jach can't keep his opponent in guard - Dravinski advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jach wants to improve his position but Dravinski is controlling well.
Dravinski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dravinski works his way into full mount! Dravinski swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
