The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharma gets caught napping as Trish dives in and scores a takedown. Sharma manages to retain guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Trish sitting in guard here, content to control. Trish gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Trish takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sharma throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Trish sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sharma misses with a hook. Sharma misses the jab. Sharma throws a hook but Trish blocks it. Sharma misses with a left hand and Trish counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sharma's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Trish is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sharma can't keep his opponent in guard - Trish advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Trish seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Sharma wants to get back to his feet. Trish scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Let's hope that Trish has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Trish stops Sharma from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Trish lands with a punch from half guard. Trish moves into full mount! Sharma won't be happy about that! Trish is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sharma has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trish takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sharma has left one of his arms exposed and Trish doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Sharma screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
