Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cris Chapa Ral! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Natsu Dragneel! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapa Ral dives in for a single leg takedown but Dragneel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Come on Dragneel - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Dragneel lands a hook to the side of the head. Dragneel lands with a light punch inside. Dragneel pressing his opponent against the cage. Dragneel lands on the inside with an uppercut. Chapa Ral has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dragneel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Dragneel gets through Chapa Ral's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short left from Dragneel. Dragneel working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Dragneel manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Chapa Ral is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cris Chapa Ral. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chapa Ral goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dragneel prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dragneel lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Chapa Ral backwards. Chapa Ral is looking for a takedown. Oh Chapa Ral is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Dragneel is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Dragneel is leaning against Chapa Ral and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Chapa Ral seems to have got his legs back now. Dragneel pushes Chapa Ral back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Dragneel scores with a shoulder strike. Dragneel throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Dragneel's coach down at Furia Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dragneel's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Dragneel lands a right hand. Dragneel content to slow the pace in the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Dragneel.
Dragneel lands a right hand. Dragneel creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Chapa Ral with a big uppercut! Chapa Ral tries to clinch up but Dragneel pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Chapa Ral to the mat! Chapa Ral covers up and Dragneel unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
