PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Kafka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Kint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kafka comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Viktor Kafka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Kint!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kint on the wrong end of a nice hook.


It looks like Roger Kint has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kafka. Kint does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kint lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kafka misses with a low kick.
Kafka keeps Kint at a distance using the push kick.
Kint avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kint throws a shot from downtown. Kafka moves away and avoids it.

Kint clinches.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Kint misses with a body punch.
A short right from Kafka on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kafka is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kint can't fight it off and eventually Kafka manages to take the fight to the floor. Kint looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kint pulls Kafka in to control the position.

Viktor Kafka has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kafka looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Kint tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kafka defends well and Kint ends up having to push Kafka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kint fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Kafka works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Kint tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kafka trying to control the position from guard on top but Kint is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kint bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kafka's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kint won't allow Kafka to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kafka is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kint is aware though and is defending well.
Kint wants to control from the top but Kafka keeps moving.

Kafka pulls Kint in to control the position.
Kint passes Kafka's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kint has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kint avoids the attempt from Kafka to control.
Kint is looking to work his way around to Kafka's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Kint tries to control but Kafka wriggling away.
Kafka is controlling an arm, preventing Kint from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Kint looking to control but Kafka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kafka has given up his back here. Will Kint look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Kint has got his arm under Kafka's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Kafka has spun round into Kint's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Kint is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Viktor Kafka will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Nice uppercut there from Kint.
Kint tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kafka swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice takedown defense from Kafka. No joy for Kint on that attempt.
Kafka misses with a straight left.
A jab from Kafka misses.
Nice defenses there by Kint.
Kint slips a straight right by Kafka.
Jab, jab by Kint - just one landing.
Kint defending well as Kafka loads up on a big left hand.

Kafka thows a body shot but no joy.
Kint takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kafka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kint.

Kint drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kafka.
Kint scores with a shot to the body.
Kafka throws a nice looking combination but Kint bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kint fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kafka on the side of the head.

Kafka shoots in and bounces Kint off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kint is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kafka won't allow Kint to sweep him here.
Kint is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kint is looking for a triangle but Kafka pushes his legs off easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kafka is just content to waste time from the top position. Kint takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Kafka manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Kint is looking to stall here but Kafka recovers full guard.

A close second round but Roger Kint will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Kint shoots for a double leg takedown but Kafka sprawls well. He's pushed Kint's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kafka throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kint jabs Kafka to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Kafka cracks the inside of Kint's front leg.
Kafka swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kint.
Kafka thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kafka throws a lazy uppercut

and Kint decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kafka's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kint passes Kafka's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kafka wants to get back to full guard.

Kint is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kafka!

Kint moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kafka has worked his arm free - good work by Kafka!

Roger Kint comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kint has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
