The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalid smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kalid lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kalid misses with the combination.
Kalid throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tracon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kalid looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kalid swings for the body but Tracon moves out of range.
Kalid throws a nice looking combination but Tracon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tracon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Tracon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kalid throws a leg kick but Tracon checks it.

Victor Kalid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalid misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kalid lands a nice shot that snaps Tracon's head back.
Tracon takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Tracon moves out of range of the leg kick from Kalid.

Kalid has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Kalid has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tracon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kalid gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tracon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kalid after a bit of a struggle.
Our sources have told us that Tracon has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Tracon has clasped his hands together around Kalid's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tracon connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kalid some visible discomfort.

It looks like Victor Kalid has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kalid can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
