Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Janus Javorski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Javorski dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Javorski misses the shot to the body. Silva closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Javorski misses with the combination.
Silva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Javorski throws out the jab. Javorski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Javorski lands with a nice body punch. Javorski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Javorski just misses with a punch to the body.
Javorski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Javorski works over Silva's head and body with a nice combination. Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Javorski is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Javorski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silva defends it easily. Silva scoring with punches to the head and body.
It looks like Janus Javorski has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Javorski trying to control the position.
Silva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Javorski is retaining full guard. Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Javorski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Javorski's legs - danger averted. Silva stands up over Javorski, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Javorski swivels though and keeps the full guard. Javorski wants to sweep but no luck. Silva has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Javorski to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Silva is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Javorski pulls down on the head and he's put Silva to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Janus Javorski!
