Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Ottway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nova Uniao!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uniao lets loose with a powerful body kick. Ottway will feel that in the morning.
Ottway shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Uniao but Uniao pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Uniao is looking to slow Ottway down with leg kicks.
Uniao scores with a shot to the body.
Uniao closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ottway to the mat! Ottway manages to get full guard.
Uniao with a nice head shot there.
Ottway being controlled here, momentarily.
Uniao trying to control but Ottway is working from the bottom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Uniao passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ottway is looking to regain half guard here but Uniao keeps moving and retains side control.
Uniao controls the position from side control.
Uniao is putting a hurting on Ottway here, landing some big shots from side control.

Uniao tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Uniao is staying tight to Ottway's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Ottway takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Uniao is working Ottway over with some ground and pound from side control.
Uniao is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ottway's shoulder. That is not cool.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ottway is looking to regain half guard here but Uniao keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Uniao works to advance to full mount. Ottway defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Uniao is landing with some decent strikes but Ottway is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
BOOM! Uniao connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Ottway is rocked!
Uniao lands a big elbow - Ottway is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Ottway is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Nova Uniao!
After winning the bout, Nova Uniao thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
