Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chet Lamare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shamsudin Khulagov! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamare instigates a clinch. Khulagov blocks the elbow strike.
Khulagov is looking for a takedown. Khulagov tries to pull guard but Lamare holds him up against the cage and eventually Khulagov drops back down to his feet.
Khulagov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lamare to keep the fight standing. Chet Lamare has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shamsudin Khulagov. Nice elbow from Lamare.
It looks like Shamsudin Khulagov has been cut. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Khulagov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Khulagov takes an elbow to the forehead. Khulagov jumps guard but Lamare turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Khulagov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lamare to keep the fight standing. Khulagov blocks an elbow strike. Khulagov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lamare lands on the inside with an uppercut. Lamare misses with an elbow over the top. Khulagov blocks the elbow strike.
Khulagov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lamare walks away with a smile on his face. Khulagov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Lamare moves into the clinch. Khulagov takes an elbow to the temple.
That has opened up Shamsudin Khulagov's cut even more.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khulagov fails to pull guard.
Khulagov takes an elbow to the forehead. Lamare misses with an elbow over the top. Lamare lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Lamare lands a damaging elbow. Lamare creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Khulagov's defenses. Lamare working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
The cut above Shamsudin Khulagov's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Lamare lands a nice elbow. Khulagov is trying to drag Lamare to the mat but Lamare just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A nice glancing elbow lands by Lamare. Lamare lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Shamsudin Khulagov's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shamsudin Khulagov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Chet Lamare! Chet Lamare tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
