Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Komodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimon Boets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boets has chosen Штиль as his entrance music. Joe Komodo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Komodo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimon Boets! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boets changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Komodo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Boets is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Komodo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Boets is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Komodo has escaped the position, nice work there. Komodo defending against the ground and pound. Boets is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Komodo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Boets working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boets is working Komodo over with some ground and pound from side control. Boets tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Boets has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Boets tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Boets is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Komodo has escaped the position, nice work there. Boets working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Komodo is trying to control Boets's posture but Boets avoids it. Komodo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Komodo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Komodo tries to get out of the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Boets goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Komodo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Boets but great work by Komodo. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boets is looking to regain half guard here but Komodo keeps moving and retains side control. Komodo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boets on the ground. Komodo controls the position. Boets struggling a bit here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Boets has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Boets's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boets gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Boets looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Boets is staying active underneath Komodo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Boets trying to get back to full guard but Komodo takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Boets is desperately trying to improve his position but Komodo has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boets manages to regain half guard. Good work. Boets tries to roll over but Komodo keeps him under control. Boets works his way to full guard. Good work. Boets throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Komodo escapes and throws Boets's legs to the side, diving into side control! Boets tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Komodo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Boets is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dimon Boets dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Boets shoots in but no luck this time. Boets moves in looking to clinch but Komodo pushes him off. Komodo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Boets counters with a stiff right hand. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Boets crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Komodo - the referee stops the clock and Boets gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Komodo. Boets manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Boets has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Komodo scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Komodo misses with a low kick. Komodo closes the distance and pushes Boets back into the cage. Boets has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Komodo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Boets goes for a takedown attempt but Komodo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Joe Komodo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimon Boets. Komodo has closed the distance and engaged Boets in a clinch.
Komodo will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Boets up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Komodo lands an elbow inside that Boets shrugs off.
It looks like Dimon Boets has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boets jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Komodo walks away with a smile on his face. Boets gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nice takedown defense from Komodo. No joy for Boets on that attempt. Boets keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Joe Komodo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boets shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Komodo but Komodo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Komodo lands a left and a right that send Boets crashing to the mat, dazed. Komodo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Boets is rocked! Joe Komodo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boets dives in and grabs Komodo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Komodo pushes down on Boets's head and hops out. Komodo just misses with a punch to the body.
Komodo cracks Boets with a right hand to the side of the head. Boets is still on wobbly legs! Can Komodo finish him? Boets fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Joe Komodo is winning the standup battle so far. Komodo throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A nice inside leg kick there by Komodo. That's going to slow Boets down. Boets is breathing heavily. Komodo clinches. Boets seems to have recovered his senses. Boets tries to score a body lock takedown but Komodo shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Boets avoids a wild elbow strike from Komodo. Komodo lands with a left to the head. Boets has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Komodo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Komodo missing with knees to the body.
Boets can't get the takedown.
Komodo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Boets avoids it. Boets tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Komodo just stands there and leans against the cage. Komodo lands a vicious elbow to the side of Boets's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Komodo tries to finish him with strikes but Boets still seems able to defend himself so Komodo steps back and lets Boets get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game. Komodo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Dimon Boets seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Komodo misses the jab. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Komodo - that will leave a mark!
Komodo fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Boets to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Boets looks to clinch but Komodo throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Boets taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
