The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grits bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Grits is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Attila is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Grits goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Attila has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Grits but great work by Attila.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Attila is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Grits seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Attila for as long as he can get away with.

Grits jumps guard and drags Attila to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Grits is on top in guard.

Grits got a little sloppy there for a moment and Attila has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grits has managed to get both his arms back between Attila's legs - danger averted.
Grits would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
