Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Evil Scarecrow- Robotatron. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Keiji Kawada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasputin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kawada is trying to get back to full guard. Kawada tries to kick Rasputin off but Rasputin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rasputin prevents Kawada from improving his position. Kawada moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kawada throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kawada is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kawada lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rasputin! Rasputin is looking to improve his position but Kawada isn't that keen on the idea. Kawada moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rasputin has worked his arm free - good work by Rasputin!

He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Kawada tries for a kimura but Rasputin is defending well. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rasputin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kawada.
Rasputin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kawada was covering up waiting for the punch and Rasputin finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rasputin stands and throws Kawada's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kawada tries to improve position but can't. Rasputin taking a breather here. Kawada is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rasputin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kawada wants to control but Rasputin postures up.

Rasputin slips nicely into half guard. Kawada is looking for a sweep. Rasputin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kawada is looking to escape. Rasputin is trying to control the action in half guard but Kawada is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Rasputin is looking to advance position but Kawada won't allow it. Kawada tries to get to full guard but Rasputin has control of the leg. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rasputin lands a nice short elbow. Rasputin lands with a punch from half guard. Kawada wants to improve his position but Rasputin is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rasputin's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rasputin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kawada has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rasputin has managed to get both his arms back between Kawada's legs - danger averted. Rasputin advances position into side control! Piotr Rasputin has got the better of the ground game so far. Kawada is looking for a sweep. Kawada misses with a strike from the bottom. Rasputin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rasputin tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kawada's legs. Rasputin taking a breather here. Let's hope that Rasputin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Rasputin tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawada takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kawada wants to get back to his feet but Rasputin is dominant here and he's now got Kawada's back! Rasputin lands strikes to the head. Rasputin scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Kawada is looking for a way out. Kawada tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Rasputin raining down hammerfists from mount. Kawada tries to hold on but Rasputin pushes him away. Kawada in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Rasputin tries to control but Kawada wriggling away. Kawada is in a horrible position here. Rasputin smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Rasputin with shots to the head and body - Kawada looks very uncomfortable down there. Rasputin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kawada looks a forlorn figure.
Kawada is squirming around, avoiding Rasputin's attempts to control the action. Rasputin controlling from the full mount. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rasputin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kawada is looking to escape. Rasputin landing strikes from the mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rasputin lands a couple of good shots and Kawada has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Can Kawada hold on?! Rasputin is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rasputin tries to get the hooks in deep but Kawada pushed the leg off. Kawada looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Rasputin looking for the choke from the back. Rasputin trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kawada doesn't escape. I really don't envy Kawada right now.

Kawada wants to control from the top but Rasputin keeps moving. Rasputin kicks Kawada off and gets to his feet. Kawada stuffs the takedown attempt from Rasputin. Rasputin gets slowly back to his feet. Rasputin fails with the takedown. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rasputin shoots in for a takedown but Kawada shows good takedown defense. Keiji Kawada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Piotr Rasputin. Kawada wants to clinch up but Rasputin keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Piotr Rasputin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

He has Kawada in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Rasputin connects with a knee to the head.

I was talking to Kawada's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kawada takes a knee to the side of the body. Rasputin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kawada's defenses.

Oh Kawada is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rasputin stops a takedown attempt from Kawada.

Kawada is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! This has been an exciting period of action! Rasputin closes the distance looking for a takedown. Kawada stuffs it but Rasputin still has hold of him. Rasputin picks Kawada up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Rasputin slams Kawada to the floor and that's really hurt Kawada - he doesn't know where he is! Rasputin throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Piotr Rasputin! Our winner, Piotr Rasputin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
