Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Gold! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Axel Grits! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gold shoots in but Grits avoids the takedown attempt easily. Grits moves into range and clinches up with Gold. A frustrated look appears on Grits's face as he tries to break the clinch. Grits tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gold avoids it. Grits's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A momentary lapse in concentration from Grits enables Gold to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grits manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gold wants to control from the top but Grits keeps moving. Grits wants to stand up but Gold is controlling him. Grits trying to keep a closed guard but Gold is proving a slippery customer.
Grits wants to sweep but no luck. Gold might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gold throws a big elbow that misses. Grits really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gold. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gold wants to control from the top but Grits keeps moving. Grits is trying to control the position but Gold postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Grits keeps the fight on the outside. Grits throws a head kick that misses. Gold throws a low kick, looking for Grits's leg but Grits calmly moves out of range. Gold misses with the combination.
Gold tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Grits closes the distance and clinches. Gold will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Grits up against the cage. Gold decides to pull guard. Grits must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grits wants to stand but Gold is controlling his posture from full guard. Grits is fighting to break Gold's control of his arms but Gold is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gold working a defensive guard here.

Gold pushes a forearm under Grits's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Grits is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
